RT @StephenWillms: Depressing news on highest CO2 levels yet via @guardian

Russell Roberts‘s insight:

More detail on a story I ran earlier.  Most of the data for this study came from observation on Hawaii Island.  If weather experts are right, the future will be hotter with more climatic extremes.  Some coastal cities will be inundated in years to come.  Aloha, Russ

  1. Head for the hills…..!

    • And that’s not all. The Greenland Ice Cap is receding so fast that former Viking settlements on the southern tip of Greenland are being used to raise vegetables and farm animals (shades of the 11th century). A recent “National Geographic Magazine” article highlighted this development. If the trend continues, Pacific Island nations such as Tuvulu will be swamped by the rising oceans. Something to think about. Thanks for the note, Mike……Russ

    • Who knows? Mt. Everest may become “beach front property” in a few years. Residents of low-lying mainland cities such as New Orleans, New York, and even Miami could see tidal incursions increasing. The only people to my knowledge who have handled such problems are the Dutch, who have battled the ocean for centuries. So far, they’re breaking even. Keep your shoelaces tied. Thanks for the note…..Russ
