An interesting look at Hawaii of the 1880s and 1890s from the pages of “Paradise of the Pacific”, a predecessor to the popular “Honolulu Magazine.”  Also of interest is the fact that King David Kalaukaua had a telephone system installed at Iolani Palace long before the White House in Washington, D.C. had its own phone system.  Aloha, Russ.
