The first round order of play for the U.S. vs. Poland Fed Cup by BNP Paribas World Group II was determined at the Sheraton Kona Resort & Spa at Keauhou Bay in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii on Friday.   Hawaii will host the Fed Cup for the first time in Kailua-Kona as the United States and Poland

The U.S. team is led by seven-time Grand Slam Champion and world-ranked number 12 Venus Williams.  The first match will begin Saturday, 06 February 2016, 11:00 a.m. at the Holua Tennis Center at the Mauna Loa Village.  Aloha, Russ.

The Board of Directors of the Yasme Foundation has announced the recipients of grants in furtherance of its goal of supporting the development of Amateur Radio. Grants will go to the organizing committee of the 2018 World Radiosport Team Championship (WRTC 2018), which will take place in Germany; the Reverse Beacon Network (RBN), for the purchase of equipment necessary to establish a node at the Ethiopian Amateur Radio Society’s ET3AA club station, and to a representative of the Voodoo Contest Group for the purchase of Amateur Radio training materials for use in Liberia.

The Yasme Foundation is a not-for-profit corporation organized to conduct scientific and educational projects related to amateur radio, including DXing and the introduction and promotion of Amateur Radio in developing countries

A California father is a cancer survivor thanks to a priceless gift from his Hawaii bone marrow donor. David Ohara and Ed Nako met for the first time nearly 2 years after the transplant.


The California man whose life was saved by a bone marrow transplant from a Hawaii man finally met his donor  and reaffirmed the unique bond that unites two strangers.  David Ohara told “Hawaii News Now” that Ed Nakos bone marrow was a miracle, adding that “If he didn’t do what he did, there would be a good chance that I wouldn’t be here today.”  Fourteen months after the transplant, Ohara and Nako began email exchanges and shared family photos.  Eventually, they scheduled a meeting in Hawaii to cement their friendship.  Ohara says each day is a blessing, thanks to Nagos gift of bone marrow.
