Reporter:  Ryan Ozawa (KH6WEB).

Thanks to fellow amateur radio operator (ham operator) Ryan Ozawa for this fascinating article about the 2015 ARRL Field Day this Saturday and Sunday at various locations around the state of Hawaii.  On Hawaii Island, The Big Island Amateur Radio Club will hold its Field Day operation at Hilos Wailoa Visitor Center from 8:00 a.m. Saturday through 8:00 a.m. Sunday.  The event showcases the science and public service aspects of Amateur Radio, a federally-licensed communications service that provides emergency communications during times of disaster and offers the ability to make worldwide friendships with simple radio equipment.

Like Ryan Ozawa, Im a licensed Amateur Radio operator, tooholding the call sign KH6JRM.  Ill be at the Wailoa Visitor Center on Saturday following the drag races at the Hilo Drag Strip.
